The 2006 Event Planning Awards have been issued by the Corporate Events Guide. The Corporate Events Guide is distributed biannually to more than 30,000 businesses and event organisers around New Zealand. Its awards, announced in May, honour New Zealand companies who excel in the industry of event facilities and management. This is the first year the Guide has issued the awards which cover all aspects of event planning from convention centres to entertainment companies. The Guide toured more than 800 venues and companies that support the event planning industry to research the awards. Companies were evaluated on everything from location, facilities, service received and ambience. Below is a breakdown of award winners:
